I grew up on the south side of Chicago. My mom struggled with drug addiction and my dad wasn’t around much. I know what decades of neglect, violence, and dependence on government mean for a community. Critical Race Theory says the American Dream isn't for people who look like me, who come from where I come from. I know first hand that it is your choices—not your skin color, your gender, or your ZIP code—that decides your destiny. I was the author of my own story, and I thank God every day that that story brought me here, to Iowa.
I am the first person in my family to graduate high school, and I earned a scholarship to Drake University in Des Moines. I met my husband, Mitch, had two kids, and built a great career as a financial services professional.
My story is only possible in America, because here, where you start does not have to be where you finish. I believe that is all under attack by bad policies and radical agendas. That’s why I’m running for Congress—to support our police, protect innocent life, defend our right to keep and bear arms, fight for lower taxes, smaller government, and better opportunities for all Americans. I’m working hard to earn your vote!
